Hask hair, has(k) to have it!

am a serial hair damage-r, I dye, blow dry, curl, straighten, repeat, repeat, repeat..

I'm forever trying to nail down the perfect hair care combo, something to make my hair feel young again, restore shine, moisture, without weighing me down.

Enter Hask,

I had seen Hask around the beauty world but it was just recently picked up by my local drugstore and I was gleefully delighted.

1) because yay new test product
2) because I wasn't sure Hask would be sold in drug stores, it seemed more high end or speciality store

Repairing shampoo and conditioner:
Loved,
Loved.

You can tell from the first wash that your hair has improved, this product is not one that must be built up or used on repeat to feel the difference, it has immediate results.

The shampoo alone added moisture to my hair but the conditioner was the real moisture inducer and I didn't have to let it sit the entire length of my shower to see results.

Normally I let my conditioner sit a minimum 10 mins but with this combo you actually want to cut that down. If you leave it too long it may give you a weighted feeling because it's so effective.

The Argan Oil treatment:
If you're not using oil on your ends and you struggle with dryness/ damage, GET AN OIL. That's all I can say, I've been end oiling for years and whenever I hit a slump and forget to use it my ends frizz and split.

Argan Oil Deep Conditioning treatment:
Aka hair mask
Again if you're not masking and you're a serial damager pick up this mask!
I just started using masks religiously over the last year and they have done miracles! Thicker than the conditioner and really creamy, my hair was so shiny afterwards.

I'm so happy with my Hask goodies, like so happy. We are travelling this week and the shampoo/conditioner combo are the only hair care items I packed. (That's saying something!)

My only words of advice would be NOT to over do it, if you have fine hair you may not need the entire collection. Each product is so nourishing on its own you could probably start with just the shampoo/conditioner or just the oil or the mask. However I scouted the prices at the local drug store and you can get all the above for about $20, so if you're feeling the full Monty it won't break the bank, go all out!

You can also find the products online see:

*The above items were sent for me to review but that was just amazing luck on my end because I was ready to purchase them on my own. Would recommend and purchase again!

Cher, Cockroaches and a lipstick..

Do you know what you'll be wearing for the end of the world??
I do! I do!

You know how they say the only thing outliving the apocalypse will be the cockroaches and Cher..
well I'd like to add one more to that list..

I've been having a liquid lipstick obsession lately.
so I put a couple brands to the wash off test and BA BAM, clear winner.

I don't normally need a makeup remover to remove my lipstick, it just kind of wears off throughout the day and by nightfall its a goner but I noticed something was different about my liquid lippies so I did a swatch test.

KVD, Outlaw $24 (bought at Sephora)
KVD, Bauhau5 $24 (bought at Sephora)

Swatched them all at the same time,
applied Bioderma makeup remover to cotton pad to remove and..
that Sephora Cream lip stain did not budge!
Not even a speck!

I was in shock!
and sort of scared.. lol
*note to self, do not wear Sephora Cream lip stain unless you plan to WEAR it for a while!

Wowie, that is a determined stain, I just cannot get enough lip stains,
and much like Cher I hope they stay around forever.
(so perfect for moms, apply once and no worries, its staying in place!)

*I like my Sephora but if I had to choose between the two brands I would buy the KVD a million times over! There's just something about it, creamy, solid, matte. Kat is really killing the makeup world I can't get enough of her stuff, I wore my Outlaw - Brick red out to vote.
it really accented my Save Canada Post pin, don't you think ;)

They say its a brick red but it just seems like a classic red to me! Not too deep, just right.

Get out and vote your buns off on October 19th Canadian friends!
Chat again soon! XOXO

The One With All The Boxes...

oh hey there,
welcome to life re-cap 101.

First off I'm sorry,
I'm sorry for being a sporadic blogger, a text ignorer, a not at all caught up with DWTS episode-r.

The past couple months have been crazy.
I know I already blogged that exact sentence like 10 times this year..
But this time I really mean it!

So much has happened I'll just throw some bullet points:

- house in Newfoundland went up for sale
- I got transfer letter for work in Nova Scotia
- offer came in on our house here (yay!)
- we went on a house hunting trip to Nova Scotia
- after an exhaustive search found the right new house
- came back to Newfoundland to tons of paperwork/things to do for both new and old house
- Nicks last day of work in Newfoundland - yesterday! wow now this is real
- packing, organizing, stressing, 4 more days of work for me!

That brings us to today!
I cannot believe we are leaving Newfoundland for good, I can't believe it, very sad (that's all I will say for now)

This week we have repair men, movers, bankers, doctors, hair stylists, girl guides and friends to see.
And in one week from now we will be in Nova Scotia!

The scary part is that the next few weeks will probably be even more crazy/scary.
We have so much to do once we get to NS, and we both start work right away but I can't wait to keep you all posted with the new fun stuff!
There is going to be tons of house before and afters as well as "someone come save me, please save me from this moving mess" posts, so I hope you all will stay tuned!

for now see below for a peek of our trip:
Elliott's second plane trip and he was a bit restless but tons of snacks and taggie saved us.

Taggie is his bedtime buddy, his thumb hits the mouth as soon as he sees him.
He also loves when we kiss taggies tags.. weirdo.

bite dad..

Conveniently scheduled our trip around the wiggles! whoooo hoo

Lachy was legit a foot away from me at one point and I froze in Awe, kicking myself now for not grabbing a photo.

Of course we made it on the news.
I had no idea, I looked like a big yellow blob!
Had I known they sent the media I would've tried to flash a business card or something!

Since we are moving and I don't have to pack, I'm allowing our house to go to the dogs..
Normally that Tupperware would drive me...

gone to the dogs...

just kidding we cleaned that..
but its getting really hard to occupy this kid! I need some fresh play ideas..

I didn't want to risk my prized lipstick collection at the hands of the movers so I smuggled them all to NS during our house hunting trip. There is going to be MAJOR purging when we settle after the move.

Any advice for de-cluttering, simplifying, purging, cleansing of the junk ?  ??? ? help!

Let's talk about Mr. Bubble..

A memory is worth a thousand words bubbles..

A bubble bath is where it's at!
Am I right?!

For as long as I can remember I've been a bath person, I love the soaking, lounging, lazing..
Recently I was reminded of my favorite childhood baths when a Mr. Bubble the fragrance showed up on the doorstep. And wow, it was a shock to my scent system! it smells exactly like I remember, I didn't even remember I remembered until I smelt it, it is identical to the bubble bath scent.

I think it was my grandmother who started my bubble bath addiction/collection.
Every holiday she topped up my stash of bathroom favorites.
I specifically remember having a mean collection of Mr. Bubble and Avon baby powders, believe it or not I honestly have a few baby powders left over from then, many, many moons ago (think 1980's I checked the label.. crazy or aww nostalgic??). Unfortunately the bath foams from that time are long gone, I loved using them too much to save but dang why didn't I save a bottle of Mr. Bubble OG!

Back to the fragrance version..
It is fruity and addictive, they say it's a..

"Sharp, fruity concoction, with notes of coconut, banana and peach, with a floral center of jasmine and rose, and a balsamic vanilla and powdery raspberry base."

That may sound like a mouthful but trust me it's just enough, a unique blend, maybe not for an everyday mild scent but a special occasion scent for sure.
Personally I think this would be an adorable gift for a pre-teen or done up in a throwback basket for a girlfriend!! How cute would a bottle of this be paired with some hubba bubba and a slap braclet?!!?
Next time you're stumped for a B-day gift skip the redundant candle and do a throwback basket!

I've clearly passed down the bath loving gene to my son, this kid is a bubble bath destroyer.
He goes through bottles of bubbles like they're going out of style, see pics below!

         ^ He's never met a bubble he didn't like!

^ "Please can I play 5 more minutes??"

You can pick up the Mr. Bubble fragrance at www.demeterfragrance.com, they have tons of other cool scents as well. I was just browsing their site and came across this Zombie fragrance duo, I'm sorry; but how weird/wicked is that?! Now I want to know what a zombie smells like!

Thanks to my ladies at Canadian Beauty Blogger network, they always know how to sniff out the special beauty must haves! (sniff... ha ha ha hadee hahahah)

* The Mr. Bubble scent was sent for my review but all bath stories and thoughts on the product are my own ;)
